Welcome to Artistry & Aprons, a place where storytelling, travel, photography, and design come together.
I'm Alexis, a Visual Effects Supervisor by profession and an adventurer at heart. Whether I'm helping bring feature films to life, photographing wildlife in remote landscapes, designing brands, or planning my next backcountry trek, I'm driven by a love of creating meaningful experiences and sharing them with others.
Here you'll find travel guides, outdoor inspiration, photography, creative services, and stories from the road, all rooted in the belief that the best adventures begin with curiosity and that every journey has a story worth telling.

A BACKCOUNTRY GUIDE FOR THOSE WHO WANDER
Coming October 2026
A Backcountry Guide for Those Who Wander is a hardcover guidebook created for anyone looking to build the skills and confidence to explore the backcountry. Expanding on the downloadable guide available on the Artistry & Aprons website, this edition dives deeper into the knowledge, preparation, and mindset needed to safely enjoy life on the trail.
Whether you're planning your very first overnight backpacking trip or refining the skills you've learned over years of adventure, this guide brings together practical advice, real world experience, and lessons I've learned from countless miles spent hiking and camping in some of the world's most incredible landscapes.
Inside, you'll find guidance on trip planning, gear selection, camp setup, water treatment, food storage, Leave No Trace principles, wildlife safety, backcountry hygiene, navigation, and emergency preparedness, along with personal stories and tips from the trail that make each lesson relatable and approachable.
More than just a how to manual, A Backcountry Guide for Those Who Wander is an invitation to step outside your comfort zone, embrace the outdoors with confidence, and discover the freedom that comes from carrying everything you need on your back. My hope is that this book helps readers feel prepared, inspired, and excited to experience the incredible places that await beyond the trailhead.
NALA IN THE WILD: KENYA
Coming December 2026
Nala in the Wild: Kenya is the first book in a children's adventure series authored by Hoboken educators Madeleine Vayda and Janice Sheridan, with illustrations by Alexis Sansone.
The story follows Nala, a curious dog whose imagination takes her somewhere new every day while her mom is at school. Each adventure introduces young readers to a different part of the world, where Nala discovers incredible wildlife, learns about the importance of conservation, and reminds us that every animal plays a valuable role in our planet's story.
Set against the breathtaking landscapes of Kenya, the first book introduces children to some of Africa's most iconic wildlife while encouraging curiosity, compassion, and a love for the natural world. Through colorful illustrations and engaging storytelling, readers are invited to see the world through Nala's eyes and discover why protecting it matters.
Beyond the story itself, Nala in the Wild: Kenya encourages children to turn inspiration into action. Readers can complete Nala's interactive Kindness Mission Log, designed to inspire simple acts of kindness in their own communities, and explore the Endangered Animal Project activity page, where they can learn more about threatened species and how they can help protect wildlife for generations to come.
Filled with adventure, imagination, and heart, Nala in the Wild: Kenya is the beginning of a series that inspires young explorers to discover the world, care for its animals, and leave every place a little better than they found it.
ON MY LIST
Coming 2027
"I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list."
On My List is a large format coffee table book inspired by the quote that has guided my travels for years. It is a collection of my favorite photographs and the stories behind them, gathered over more than a decade of exploring some of the world's most remarkable landscapes.
I am an amateur wildlife and landscape photographer with a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the places that make us feel small. From mountain summits and remote backcountry camps to quiet forests, wildlife encounters, and unforgettable moments abroad, each photograph represents a place that has left a lasting impression on me.
This book is not about checking destinations off a list or capturing the perfect photograph. It is about celebrating the journey, embracing adventure, and finding beauty in the wild corners of our world. Every image tells the story of a place that challenged me, inspired me, or simply made me stop and take it all in.
Part photography collection and part source of travel inspiration, On My List is an invitation to slow down, explore with intention, and discover the incredible places that are still waiting just beyond the next trail, the next flight, or the next turn in the road.
I hope it earns a place on your coffee table, sparks conversations, and inspires you to start creating a list of your own.
