Hi!

I'm Alexis, and I'm so glad you're here!

Welcome to Artistry & Aprons! My little pocket of the world where all of my passions converge under one creative roof. I wanted to share a little about myself and the exciting journey I've been on. Originally from the charming town of Cheshire, Connecticut, I discovered my love for film at an early age, dreaming of a career in the industry. This passion led me to the vibrant heart of cinematic creativity—New York City. After graduating college at Hofstra University, I completed a fellowship at the wonderful VFX studio, Phosphene and fell in love with the people and work. Nine years later, I’m proud to say I’m still with Phosphene as a Visual Effects Supervisor and have had the opportunity to leave my mark on incredible projects like "Tick Tick Boom," "In The Heights," "The Devil All The Time," "Maestro" by Bradley Cooper and Netflix's "Rustin".

But life isn't all about the fast-paced world of visual effects for me. I find solace and inspiration in various hobbies including hiking, drawing, traveling, reading and photography. When I'm not crafting cinematic magic or feeding my wanderlust, you'll find me deriving joy from the sweet art of baking, turning simple ingredients into delectable creations that mirror my creative spirit.

What truly makes my heart full is my commitment to giving back to the community. Currently serving as the Vice President of The Theresas Battleship Foundation and on the board of The Healy Foundation, I organize and participate in several fundraisers for both foundations annually, embodying my belief in the importance of making a positive impact on the world around me. These foundations are extremely close to my heart, and collaborating with friends to raise funds for pediatric cancer research and college scholarships is a cause I hold dear.

Balancing my passion for my career with my dedication to philanthropy, I continue to carve out a dynamic and fulfilling life in the world of film and beyond. Thank you for joining me on this incredible journey!

With Love,

PS. I think it’s important to note that I would not be where I am without the dozens of people that took time to respond to me and answer my millions of questions along the way so I invite you also, if you are curious or looking for guidance in the industry, to please reach out and I’m happy to help in any way I can!

Vice President, Theresa's Battleship Foundation

Board of Directors, The Healy Foundation

The Theresas Battleship Foundation provides funding for the laboratory research and clinical trials program within the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Connecticut Children's Medical Center. All monies raised have gone 100% to this cause. The Theresa’s Battleship Foundation has hosted several fundraisers including basketball tournaments, galas, organized runs, walks and relays, sent hundreds of cards to pediatric cancer patients, presented at events, made new friends and grown the battleship community more than we ever thought possible. As of November, 2021 we have now surpassed 1 million dollars raised!

The Healy Foundation seeks to step in and give under-resourced, high-performing college juniors and seniors the financial means to finish their education at a time when unexpected personal hardship jeopardizes their academic aspirations. Unanticipated adversity (e.g. parental unemployment, grave family illness) during one’s college education is an undeniable challenge for any student; however, the financial burden of such personal setbacks puts low-income students at increased risk of dropout and academic regression, obscuring their pathway to financial security. Since our founding in 2010, we have raised over $225,000 in donations that have generously supported our many deserving scholars. They have gone on to thrive in careers and continue to be a part of the foundation as donors themselves, participants in our events, and close friends whom we continue to personally support and counsel in their pursuit of rigorous careers.
